An open-source project for rebroadcasting streams to multiple platforms
Gjoll is an open-source project named after Gjöll, the river in Norse mythology that separates the living from the dead. This project is designed to receive a stream from broadcasting software like OBS Studio and rebroadcast it to multiple platforms such as Twitch, YouTube, and Owncast.
It is still early days, but I've been able to restream with Gjoll to Twitch and Youtube at the same time, next up is OwnCast and then bots to combine all chats into one so that the streamer doesn't miss anything.
Gjoll, named after Gjöll, the mythical river in Norse mythology, was chosen to represent the project's core purpose: bridging different realms. In Norse lore, Gjöll was the river that separated the living from the dead, symbolizing a passage between two worlds. Similarly, the Gjoll project aims to bridge the gap between various streaming platforms, creating a seamless passage for your broadcast content. By using Gjoll, you can effortlessly traverse the digital landscape, ensuring your streams reach audiences across multiple platforms without the hassle of managing separate streams for each service. This name encapsulates the project's essence: uniting different streaming realms through a single, powerful tool.
